HOME TUNNEL
Open for the public 22 January - 30 January 2005
No.3, Nguyen Van Huong Street, block Thanh Binh, Thao Dien Ward, District. 2, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

HOME TUNNEL is taking up all space inside a house. I also lived in the house meanwhile I made the work and after it was finished.

The furniture, the interior, is made impossible to use. For example; the sofa has knifes attached to it, the table has bamboo sticks covering the tabletop. The bed is covered by a net, knifes and tooth picks. The mirror in the bathroom has racer blades on the surface, the TV screen has sharp tools knitted to it. The shelves are filled up with bricks and bamboo.

The visitors step into the house and they walk around inside the sculpture. Inside the house there is a tunnel system, digging its way through the traps, the knives, the bamboo. The tunnels dig through walls and floors, and the furniture. The tunnels have big spades sticking out of them, they are the power of the tunnels. On the tunnels there are black feathers. Fans are making the feathers move. I use this to show activity. The windows are covered and the light is coming from the large flashlights that are growing out of the tunnels.
