Divorce II is placed out doors, at the entrance of the
Berliner Kunst Salon September 2004.
Description
A car (scale 1:1 Renault 5) with no tyres, covered in black plastic and
transparant tape is the centre of the sculpture. From the car, four tunnels
are growing out, 5-8 meters each. The tunnels are in the same material
as the car, except from the 1-2 meters in the ends and they are about
70 cm in diameter. They grow out from the two sides and the back and the
front of the car. The car has no tyres, it is impossible to drive it,
and it has collapsed. The tunnels are the energy, the will, the will to
leave what is dead, over, left, victim position, and no energy. The relation
between the abstracted car, the taken over car and the end of the tunnels
is the important. In the end of the tunnels there are big spades sticking
out of the tunnels. They are working; they are the symbol for creating
the tunnels, the will. Inside the tunnels there are black feathers and
light. A fan is also standing inside the tunnel. The fan activates the
feathers.
The spades, much bigger than usual scale, but covered with the same material
as the tunnels, are digging. They are made so that they disappear sometimes
into the ground. They are heavy, massive, like propellers, about four
spades in each tunnel, different shapes and movement.
