Material: wood, metal, adhesive tape, plastic foil, black feathers, 4 ventilators, transparent tape, PVC pipes, steel wire, chicken wire, board, thread, dimmer, inner tubes, rubber

220 cm high
117cm wide
65cm deep

A pile of “rubber inner tubes” from trucks creates a hybrid together with a tree made out of plastic and tape. The root uses the rubber from the tubes as its soil.

The tree is shown as a “cut out” it is just the lower trunk part of the tree that is in focus.

The sculpture can be seen as it has one front and one back. At the front you see the tree and its root part, a whole tree is shown; what is under and above the ground. At the back you look into the inside of the tree.

The tree hybrid is shown as a cross section, and what would be the inside is visible. Inside the tree and the piles of inner tubes the surface is covered with black feathers. Four fans blow the feathers. The activity is inside the tree.
